Popular mobile app for video, Vine, has tapped into user creativity with video clips limited to six-seconds.
Vine is a mobile app owned by Twitter that enables its users to create and post short video clips, which have a time limit of six seconds. These short clips can then be shared or embedded on social networking services such as Twitter and Facebook.
Vine's full functions are only available through the mobile and tablet apps, and the six-second clips play in a loop. Users can 'revine' (similar to a retweet on Twitter), like or comment on the clips.
Vine's main competitor is considered to be Instagram video, which launched after Vine but boasts a longer time limit of 15 seconds and a desktop site on which pictures and videos can be easily viewed.
Vine utilises 'popular' and 'new' pages to enable users to easily find new content and new users to follow. The popularity of the app, which has 40 million users, has even inspired several 'Best Vine' compilation videos on YouTube and numerous Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts dedicated to finding the 'best' and 'funniest' vines.
Here are 10 comedy vines popular on the app and across social media today.
