The Church of St Anne in Cork City is seeking a tower manager to take on the role of ringing the famous Shandon Bells from the tower overlooking the River Lee.

Although the role requires the bell-ringer to work seven days a week during the peak season, the campanologist role comes with one big perk... a rent-free apartment in Cork’s City Centre.

While the job might seem a bit monotonous to many, the tower offers 360° views of Cork and is a popular attraction for tourists visiting the city.

The Church is hoping that the new tower manager will help draw even more tourists to the church who for a small fee can also ring the famed Shandon Bells.

“Shandon Bells, St Anne’s Church, Shandon, Cork is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Tower Manager to manage and promote this iconic tourist attraction in the heart of Cork City,” the advert read.

“A background in tourism marketing would be an advantage for this exciting opportunity to manage and develop one of Cork’s most popular landmark tourist destinations.”
