The free public art exhibit is back for its second year, combining the work of noted artists with a beautiful country setting.

Set in the breathtaking grounds of Maynooth’s luxurious Carton House resort, ‘Vanishing Art’ showcases the work of seminal Irish artists.

Over 70 of the country’s most notable artists including John Behan, Patrick O’Reilly, Ann Meldon and Carolyn Mulholland are currently preparing to display their impressive sculptures and paintings over the course of the exhibition.

It is expected that over 100,000 people will attend the free public event, taking in the 180 spectacular works of art on show.

Kilkenny based painter Eoghan McGrath will hold the title of ‘Artist in Residence’ this year, capturing the scenic landscapes of the grounds through portraiture as autumn turns to winter.

McGrath has gained international recognition for his portraiture, and was shortlisted for the Davy Portrait Award in 2009.

Carton’s House Director of Sales and Marketing, Monica O’Byrne, said the exclusive hotel was thrilled to once again collaborate with the esteemed creatives of the Irish art scene.

Aside from the exhibition, there will also be a photography competition and a kids art competition, with significant cash and sculpture prizes up for grabs.

The exhibition will begin on October 1st and finish on Christmas Eve, December 24th 2014.
