10am: Brunch at the A&P Social
'Wake up, shower, dress and brunch': that's the motto of The A&P Social, the hottest eatery in Montgomery's hip and historic Cloverdale district. Menus are stacked with Southern favourites: think everything from zesty fried green tomatoes to hearty servings of shrimp and grits. Like your eggs Benny with a twist? Order it here with fried oysters, straight from the Gulf of Mexico!

2pm: Tour The Fitzgerald Museum
Love literature…and Amazon Prime? HBO's Z: The Beginning of Everything, the tale of novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zelda Sayre, all starts here in Montgomery. The couple's former home is today the world's only museum dedicated to the duo - offering a fascinating insight into their love and lives to the backdrop of the Roaring '20s. Keep an eye out for Zelda's artworks on the walls, too.

Few Southern scenes are more iconic than a sunset river cruise down the Alabama River. Trips down the Alabama River vary their themes from blues to 'brews' cruises. And yes, you can expect Proud Mary to be on the playlist.
