Tech travel essentials for summer...
Four fab gadgets for your getaway.
Gadget freaks need their getaways too, you know. Jessical Kelly picks four technology treats for your summer holiday.
Logitech UE Boom
Music fans should invest in a good speaker to keep them entertained while on holiday. The Logitech UE Boom is an expensive investment, but totally worth the money. The cylindrical-shaped speaker blasts out 360-degree sound, filling any room with music. The device is small enough to fit in hand luggage. It has a 15-hour battery life and can be recharged with a standard Micro USB cable.
Many will bring their smartphone on holiday and use it as a music player, map and camera. This is, of course, what these phones were built for, but there's no point in placing huge importance on it without protecting it properly. There's a wide selection of covers for every phone on the market but the Otterbox Pursuits/40 is 100 per cent waterproof and will protect devices from any external factors!
iFrogz GoLite Backup Charger
You don't want to be standing in front of the Eiffel Tower and see one per cent battery, so have a back up. The GoLite charger is a small-sized portable charger. It has a 2600 mAh internal battery than can repower most smartphones. Simply connect the phone via USB and wait for your device to recharge.
Kobo Aura eReader
For those looking to ditch the phone and get lost in a book or two, Kobo have a good selection of affordable eReaders. The Aura has a low-glare, high-res 6-inch screen. Text appears on the Pearl e-Ink screen and the device has a "ComfortLight" to make reading that bit easier. The device is extremely light and has an impressive battery life of over two months!
