Low-cost airline Norwegian has sprung a flash sale beginning the countdown to its first transatlantic flights from Ireland.

Today, the airline released 6,000 seats from €99 each way on routes from Cork, Shannon and Dublin to the US east coast.

The new services are set for take-off on July 1. Routes include Dublin and Shannon to Boston Providence and New York Stewart International, and Cork Airport’s first ever scheduled transatlantic flights, to Boston Providence.

The sale fares are live today until June 3, but given the limited number of seats available, customers are advised to act fast.

Norwegian has already sold over 25,000 tickets on the Irish-US routes, a spokesperson has told Independent.ie Travel, and the airline recently confirmed that its passengers can use US Preclearance in Dublin and Shannon.

Sale fares are available for travel between July and March 2018, the airline says. They include taxes and charges, but not extras like checked baggage, seat selection or in-flight food and drink.
