The sale, which sees 100,000 sale seats priced at €19.99 for travel in October and November, will be live on Ryanair.com until midnight, August 29.

Going to press, €19.99 fares were available from Dublin to Amsterdam, Mallorca, Ibiza and Tours Loire Valley in November via the sale banner.

Using the website's 'Fare Finder' feature also reveals one-way fares to Barcelona (Reus), Paris (Beauvais) and La Rochelle from €16.99 during that month.

The flash sale was announced after IATA figures showed Ryanair to have carried over 101.4 million international passengers in 2015.

The tallies confirm that it remains "the world's favourite airline", Ryanair claims (its closest rival for international passengers was easyJet, with 62.6m).

However, it still has a way to go before becoming the world's biggest airline. IATA's Top 5 when both international and domestic passengers are included is as follows:

  1. American Airlines (146.5 million)
  2. Southwest Airlines (144.6 million)
  3. Delta Air Lines (138.8 million)
  4. China Southern Airlines (109.3 million)
  5. Ryanair (101.4 million)

Ryanair aspires to carry more than 117 million passengers in 2016, according to its head of Communications, Robin Kiely.
