Suite talk Cas Gasi, Ibiza

Gemma O'Doherty

There's a lot more to Ibiza than night clubs and noisy music. Away from the racket, right at the heart of the island, you'll find a 12-room property which prides itself on being a hotel for people who don't like hotels.

Cas Gasi is an elegant family-run finca surrounded by jasmine and almond trees, and endless views that stretch towards Sa Talaia, the island's highest peak.

Bedrooms are rustic in style with pine beams, terracotta floors, and terraces that lead out to the garden and pools. Nearby, sleepy whitewashed villages, secluded forest trails and a super beach at Salinas are perfect for exploring.

Breakfast is a feast of yogurt, fruits and honey while seasonal produce from the garden's organic plot is served with local fish and meat at night.

The hotel opens throughout winter. February is a good bet when the almond trees burst into full bloom, producing a carpet of pink and white blossom over the nearby valleys.

Double rooms start at €204 per night including breakfast. For bookings see casgasi.com.
