YOU can tell a lot about a holiday resort by the type of star power it attracts. And of Hawaii's many islands, Maui seems to attract the most celebrity visitors, whether it's Paris Hilton to top up her tan, or Megan Fox (inset) to tie the knot with Brian Austin Green in an outdoor ceremony on the island's romantic coast.

Other stars which make Maui one of the most popular destinations for the rich and famous include Owen Wilson, Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.

So what has Maui got to offer besides sharing a paradise with lots of celebrities soaking up the sun? Known as the Valley Isle, Maui is dotted with quaint towns and artist communities, is famous for its farm-to- table cuisine, shimmering beaches, humpback whales and sunsets on Haleakala.

Maui was voted the Best Island by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler for 19 years.
