Bali and Singapore

The lush paddy fields and white sand beaches of Bali create the perfect backdrop for a romantic break. And it makes a great honeymoon when teamed up with the bustling Singapore.

Trailfinders (trailfinders.ie) has a trip that begins with eight nights at the luxurious Four Seasons Jimbaran, with a free upgrade to an ocean view villa, complete with private plunge pool.

Then it's on to Ubud for four nights at the Four Seasons at Sayan, before a short flight over to Singapore. There you'll have three nights at the infamous Raffles Hotel, home to the Singapore Sling.

Prices starts at €8,099 per couple, with transfers, breakfast and flights from Dublin or Cork, based on a departure in May or June.

South Africa and Mauritius

The combination of safari and beach has long been a marriage of love. GoHop.ie has a dream package that begins in the Kapama Game Reserve, in the Greater Kruger National Park in the South African province of Limpopo.

Accommodation is chic and luxurious, and you'll be in the heart of the action for morning game drives.

Be sure to book in for an open-air treatment in the wellness centre and an incredible hot air balloon trip.

After four nights in the bush, it's onward to the pristine sands of the five star Shandrani Resort in Mauritius, to flop down on their private peninsula for five nights. The trip starts at €1,890pp and includes transfers and full board accommodation, though not flights, which are priced upon enquiry.

Vegas and Cancun

Finding a honeymoon that suits two holiday styles can be tricky. One man's paradise beach break can be another's week of boredom. The answer? Two destinations that couldn't be more different.

You'll start in the buzzing city of Las Vegas. If New York is the city that never sleeps, Vegas is the town that's on steroids. Just before sensory overload kicks in, it's onwards to Cancun, to flop down on a sun lounger and regenerate in the sun. American Sky (americansky.ie) is offering trips from €1,179pp, combining four nights in the Luxor Hotel in Vegas with six nights full board in the Occidental Grand Xcaret Hotel in Cancun, including flights.

London and Paris

An amazing honeymoon needn't mean a long haul flight. London and Paris are a match made in heaven, with a transfer that couldn't be easier.

The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel (stpancrasrenaissance.co.uk) is lavish, ornate and practically inside the Eurostar terminal, making the next leg of your trip a breeze. Stay in the Victorian 'Chambers' (from €489), and you'll also have a VIP Eurostar transfer service, as well as many luxurious extras.

There's nothing like boarding a train in London to emerge in the heart of Paris, where you can finish your honeymoon in one of the most romantic cities on earth.

Fly to London and back from Paris with Aer Lingus (aerlingus.com). One way tickets on the Eurostar (Eurostar.com) start at £34.50 (€42) and they have numerous hotel packages bookable online.

Rome and Sorrento

Paris isn't the only city fit for a European love fest. Each nook and crevice of the Eternal City reveal a new delight, from the truly awesome Coliseum to the ornate Trevi fountain.

The people watching is second to none, best observed with an espresso in hand. Sorrento is the perfect accompaniment to the Italian capital, and another great spot to watch the world go by.

From pavement cafes to bustling piazzas, it's the coastal gem with relentlessly beautiful views of azure water.

Topflight (topflight.ie) has 10 night honeymoons to Rome and Sorrento from €1,499pp in May, including flights from Dublin, first class train travel in Italy and four star accommodation.

Sri Lanka, Maldives and Dubai

If two cities aren't quite enough to tickle the taste buds, then this triple stop holiday from Travelmood (travelmood.ie) is sure to satisfy.

Kicking off in Sri Lanka, you can explore the wealth of variety this island has to offer, from thick jungle terrain to tea plantations.

Next up is the Maldives, a picture- perfect paradise of clear turquoise water and pristine beaches.

You'll round up the trip in Dubai, where you can hit the malls and soak up the buzz of the city. The trip includes flights from Dublin and transfers, five nights in Sri Lanka, seven nights in the Maldives and four nights in Dubai, all in four or five star hotels with breakfast.

Prices start at €2,284pp, based on travel in April-June 2014.

Mauritius and Réunion

A twin centre honeymoon can be as simple as a short hop from one utopian island to another. Start in Mauritius, where the white sands and sparkling waters make for an incredible setting. Be sure to break out the snorkels, too.

The neighbouring island of Réunion is just a 45-minute flight away, with a dramatic landscape (including an active volcano) and French influences throughout. Tropical Sky (tropicalsky.ie) is offering trips to Mauritius and Réunion from €2,259pp for five nights all inclusive in the Lux Belle Mare, Mauritius and two nights B&B in the Grand Hotel Du Lagon, Réunion, including all flights.

San Francisco and Hawaii

It's the surfer's mecca that tops many a holiday wish-list. But at such a distance from Ireland, it makes sense to break up the journey. San Francisco is the perfect rest stop, and luckily makes for an ideal honeymoon hotspot.

Rent bikes and cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge to the pretty town of Sausalito, or head up to the vineyards of Sonoma and Napa.

In Hawaii, you can take to the water for a surf session, or explore the luscious hillsides. American Sky (americansky.ie) is offering trips from €1,859pp, combining six nights in Hawaii with three nights in San Francisco. Bear in mind you can tailor make the trip, adding nights in either location or another stop on the way home.
