TRAVEL: Rail (www.irishrail.ie) to Tralee. Road: N21/N22/N69 to Tralee; N86 Dingle road to Camp; R560 Stradbally road; in 4 miles, right through Castlegregory for 3½ miles to Spillane's Bar, Fahamore (OS of Ireland ref. Q 609187).

WALK DIRECTIONS: From Spillane's pub, walk to Scraggane Pier and back. Walk down side of pub; on along stony lane (Kerry Way/KW 'walking man' waymarks), then along boreen, to turn left to Scraggane Pier, then retrace steps around Scraggane Bay. In ¼ mile, detour right down road past Green Room pub to view standing stone in field on left (618186); then return to road end and continue round Scraggane Bay.

In Kilshannig bear left to visit St Senach's Church (625195), then follow KW along road to shore (630198). Right round Kilshannig Point; on along shore for a mile; right (623179) up wide sandy lane to road at shrine (614178). Sandy path beside shrine leads through dunes to Corralougha Strand; right to Spillane's.

LENGTH: Six miles: allow two-and-a-half hours.

GRADE: Easy.

DON'T MISS: Standing stone; inscribed cross slabs, St Senach's Church; view of Mount Brandon from Corralougha Strand.
