Donadea Forest Park Co Kildare - way to go

TRAVEL: Rail (www.irishrail.ie): Nearest station Enfield (10 miles); bus (www.buseireann.ie): 120 Dublin-Prosperous (5 miles); road: M4 to Kilcock, R407 towards Clane/Naas; in 4 miles, left at Baltracey crossroads to Donadea Forest Park (signed). €4 entrance fee (50c, €1 or €2 coins).

WALK DIRECTIONS: From car park cross tarred roadway and pass barrier. Follow 'Sli Aylmer' red arrows clockwise around Forest Park for 2½ miles to 9/11 memorial on left. Right here down Sean Tallon Way; follow red arrows round lake and on ('Nature Trail' fingerpost), to pass Donadea castle, return to car park.

LENGTH: Four miles -- allow two hours.

GRADE: Easy.

CONDITIONS: Surfaced paths.

DON'T MISS: 9/11 memorial; Famine walls along streams; Donadea Castle.

REFRESHMENTS: Forest Park café.
