Top Gear's hotly-anticipated episode featuring Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way is set to air this Sunday at 8pm on BBC2.

Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc, the show's hosts, visited the Kingdom this April for a shoot featuring a Rolls Royce Dawn and a 1976 Corniche.

"Best road I've ever driven on," Evans tweeted from Dingle's Slea Head during filming. "Had no idea it existed. A great, great day."

"Looks like an awesome drive," LeBlanc added.

Filming for Top Gear in Kerry also took place at the Killarney Lakes, while social media went mad with images of the hosts in their motors around Kenmare.

Some 2.4 million viewers are expected to tune into the show on Sunday, providing sumptuous Irish eye candy for potential visitors.

Top Gear is the latest screen coup for Tourism Ireland - with Star Wars also having filmed in Dingle, Skellig Michael, Malin Head and West Cork.

"It's the kind of publicity that money can't buy," said Vanessa Mark, the all-island marketing organisation's Head of Britain.
