The City of Tribes, Galway prepares to explode with colour during the Galway International Arts Festival form the 13th to 26th of July.
The Galway International Arts Festival has grown year on year since its founding in 1978. The annual gathering of artists, performers, dancers, musicians and thousands of spectators and revellers is now a staple of the international arts events calendar as well as an important national event.
This year Galway presents another stellar line up with the best of home grown and international talent to light up the summer nights in the West. Frank McGuinness’ new play The Match Box hits the stage, the Hofesh Shechter Company presents degeneration features outstanding young dancers, while the visual arts field is headlined by Australia’s finest Patricia Piccinini and her unsettling sculptural works, music is provided by The Coronas and St. Vincent as well as much, much more.
DiscoverIreland.ie have put together a promo video for the Galway Arts Festival which gives us a flavour of what to expect.
