Today, as a new Fáilte Ireland €1million marketing campaign for Dublin is launched, a short film capturing a day in the life of Ireland’s capital will make its debut online.

The marketing campaign follows many months of comprehensive work, coordinated by the ‘Grow Dublin Tourism Alliance’ (GDTA), between all the key players within the Dublin tourism industry – both public and private sector.

The film reveals people’s reactions as the Dublin lettering from a brand new logo designed by Oscar winning production designer and Dublin dweller Annie Atkins is revealed to for the first time at iconic locations around the city. The purpose of this film is to promote the launch of a new tourism marketing campaign for Dublin online, encouraging people to share the content along with #lovedublin in order to generate awareness and excitement for this campaign.

‘Dublin - A Breath of Fresh Air’ strives to communicate the capital’s vibrancy, bursting with incredible experiences.  The stunning design highlights Dublin as a destination where urban living thrives alongside nature and the outdoors, giving visitors the opportunity to experience city, mountains and sea in just one day. This is the focus of the ‘Dublin: A Breath of Fresh Air’ video, a brand new video commissioned by Fáilte Ireland. In this whistle-stop 60 second tour around the city’s streets, stunning coastal scenery and mountain vistas, families, friends and couples are filmed enjoying the energy of city life and relishing in the stunning tranquillity of Dublin’s surrounds. 

From Dubliners to visitors, the clip reflects on how the city breathes life to all those within it. Dublin: A Breath of Fresh Air also features the Dublin lettering from Annie Atkin’s beautiful logo in super-sized proportions popping up in locations across the city and captures footage of people’s delight as they engage with the sign at famous landmarks including Dun Laoghaire Pier, Samuel Beckett Bridge, Ticknock Wood, Merrion Square and Howth Head. From passing day-trippers on Dublin bikes to people posing with selfie sticks to Dublin City Council workers with a wheelbarrow taking one of the Dublin letters for a spin, the clip captures the fun and friendliness of the capital, showing that visitors can easily find spontaneous experiences when they explore what Dublin has to offer.

One of Dublin’s most exciting new bands continue their rise by bringing a breath of fresh air to a brand-new Fáilte Ireland campaign. ‘Ocean’ by Buffalo Sunn has been chosen as the official soundtrack for this #LoveDublin video, a natural fit for a clip that documents thrilling, unique moments created on a Dublin break. Collaborating with Irish talent to promote holidaying across the country has always been at the heart of Fáilte Ireland campaigns and this clip keeps that tradition going with footage that conveys how Dublin gives visitors a city experience like no other.
