Christie Brinkley and her daughter Alexa Ray Joel added some extra beauty to the stunning scenery of Capri when they enjoyed a yacht vacation around the gorgeous Italian island.
The 61-year-old former model and actress was also joined by her youngest daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook, and by her son Jack Brinkley-Cook.
Capri is a Mediterranean island which has long been popular with intellectuals, artists and writers, all enthralled by its magical beauty.
Novelist and MI6 secret agent Graham Greene was a frequent visitor to Capri, as was writer Thomas Mann, one of the most important figures in the history of 20th century literature.
Regular jetfoils and ferries will take you to Capri from the town of Sorrento in Italy. Or you might want to fly into Naples and take a ferry from there.
Monte Solaro is the highest point of Capri at 1,932 feet and offers great views. capritourism.com
It's time to get booted up
Two things which make us feel good about winter are a cosy coat and a warm pair of boots. Elle Macpherson and Demi Moore are two celebrities who have fallen in love with Sorel's stylish Joan of Artic boot.
Now considered a bit of a classic if you're looking for a boot which is functional but also a little funky, it suits both country walks and casual trips into town. There's a country casual vibe about this boot, but it also looks like the kind of footwear a discerning college student would want in her wardrobe.
Its silhouette features an attractive waterproof full-grain leather and suede upper with a removable recycled felt inner boot to ensure that feet stay warm.
Other celebrities who have been spotted wearing these on-trend boots are Jennifer Lawrence and Jane Lynch.
A good selling point is that the boots are easy to wear with skinny jeans or leggings. They cost €169.95. sorel.ie
Snacking sweetly on the slopes
You can get hungry out there on them snowy ski slopes. So skiers are always looking for a handy snack to bring with them which will keep them full of energy, and keep them going until the apres-ski.
Honey Stinger waffles are a firm favourite, not least because they are easy to carry around, are well-packaged and are freeze-resistant. And the good news is the organic waffles are now available in caramel flavour.
As with the other waffle flavours, this is a sweet snack which is inspired by the European stroopwafel which consists of honey in cookies.
Honey Stinger's Caramel Waffle is already receiving awards too - it received an SIA Hot Ski Gear Award for being a portable snack ideal for the piste. www.skinet.com
