Aman Canal Grande
Where: Venice, Italy
Why: Their wedding brought Hollywood's elite to Venice, with stars like Matt Damon and Bill Murray jetting in for the long-awaited nuptials. While the celebrations spanned a few of the city's hotspots, George and Amal Clooney held their wedding ceremony in the Aman Canal Grande, a sumptuous hotel right on the water. They spent the night in the Alcova Tiepolo Suite, a suitably lavish affair with an ornate hand-painted ceiling in the bedroom.

Why: It's no surprise that one of the world's hottest couples chose a pretty special spot for their honeymoon. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel started married life at the Singita Serengeti House, an incredibly chic, exclusive-use safari lodge in the depths of Tanzania, where wildebeest and elephants roam.

Where: Cap d'Antibes, France
Why: Every May, the stars flock to Cannes for the film festival, and there's only one place on the hotel hot list when they're in town. Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc has long welcomed celebrities like Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, most of whom sign the star-studded guest book upon departure. Hidden away between Nice and Cannes, the rooms are surrounded by lush gardens, with views of the French Riviera best enjoyed from the infinity pool.

Why: The Lanesborough is no stranger to a celebrity guest. Kanye West was a long-term resident, hiring out the entire top floor to record an album. The grand Knightsbridge hotel has been undergoing extensive renovations for the last two years, and is set to open again on July 1st.
