They must be putting something in the water in Kerry. Everybody wants to go there. And I don't just mean the Roses in Tralee. . .

The incomparable Morah Ryan told me on Thursday morning that she was "heading off to Kenmare to a friend's birthday party. Just an old friend. I'm going to take my time, drive the Ring of Kerry on my way - and shoot the breeze!" Gerry Ryan's widow said with a laugh.

I joked that she was lucky to be shooting the breeze on a Thursday morning to the Kingdom.

Ever philosophical, Morah replied: "I know! I'm going to be dead for millions of years. Someone's got to do it!"

Meanwhile, Miriam O'Callaghan is planning to return to Dingle and her favourite hotel The Skellig over the sea with her hubby Steve Carson and her brood at the end of the month. The reason the star is waiting that long is that her hugely successful chat show, Saturday Night with Miriam (the chat show queen had the ultimate chat show king, Michael Parkinson, on last night) ends on August 27. Only then can she and Steve jump in the car.

However excited Miriam will be to get to Dingle quick, I will caution her to follow Morah Ryan's in-car philosophy and shoot the breeze as she goes.

Jane ‘single, happy, excited about future’

Jane Given in her red Alexander McQueen dress

It’s not unusual for Jane Given and her VBF Annette Rocca to be in Marbella at this time of year. Well, the two beauties did meet Tom Jones after his concert two weeks ago in Marbs.

The gorgeous Glaswegian (and the ex-wife of Irish footballing icon, Shay) told me she was “really looking forward to supporting the ISPCC Brown Thomas Ladies’ Charity Lunch on September 2 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dublin. “I’m having such a special time here in Marbella with my children,” she added, referring to Shay Jnr and Sienna. On July 17, Jane was the stand-out in her red Alexander McQueen dress at the Global Gift Gala at

the Gran Melia don Pepe. The lady in red being a stand-out is really saying something, given (sorry, no pun intended) the other guests at the gala included Eva Longoria and Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio. “It was an amazing night.”

So was the Global Gift Party on a boat in Ibiza, and later at the STK in Ibiza, on July 19, which Jane attended along with X Factor judge

Nicole Scherzinger, Amaury Nolasco of Prison Break and Alesha Dixon.

I think you will agree that you can tell by the picture of Jane on the boat with Nicole et al that she seems to be living it large off the Balearic Islands. It would have been remiss of me not to ask about her relationship status. “I’m single, happy,” came the reply, “and excited about the future.”

Irma expecting happy event

Irma Mali will soon be hearing the pitter-patter of little feet

The pitter-patter of little feet won’t be her own down the catwalk soon for Irma Mali.

This I say because the Lithuanian supermodel based in Dublin is expecting a happy event in January with her boyfriend Barry.

Irma’s bessy mate Siobhan O’Connor told your diarist what he — and the rest of Ireland — knew already about Irma, who in the distant mists of time dated Danny O’Donoghue from The Script for four years.

“Irma has a heart of gold,” Siobhan said.

“I really got to know her as she was one of our models for Catwalk to Kabwe” — which will air soon on TV (it’s still being edited by Siobhan’s partner John Norton).

“We went to Africa last October to volunteer for Zamda Ireland, and to help raise much needed money for the orphaned street kids.”

As for the pregnancy, Siobhan said: “We only heard Irma’s exciting news last week and our Zambia family are thrilled. We still all stay in touch on our special What’s App group.

“Teo Sutra and Madeline Mulqueen also volunteered with us and we became  very close. And we are all ecstatic for Irma  and her news.” Irma, of course, is already mum to  teenager Nikoleta.

Super-hero Stan brings the ‘Winter Soldier’ to the party in House

Winter Soldier Sebastian Stan partied until late

Where does Winter Soldier in the Captain America movies go to celebrate his birthday? Sitting comfortably? Then, I’ll tell you. . .

Last weekend, actor Sebastian Stan — who was also in Black Swan and Gossip Girl — marked his 34th year with a beano in House on Leeson Street.

The super-hero arrived at 8pm, whereupon he was whisked to the establishment’s swish Wine Room.

It was here that Stan  and his co-celebrants, so to speak, stayed until 2.30am.

The birthday boy is here in Ireland to film his new movie, the thriller,  We Have Always Lived In A Castle.

And no — it is not the story of Lord Henry Mount Charles.

Indeed Stan was  joined on the night in House by the crew and cast of the movie, among them actress Alexandra Daddario.

Alexander Ludwig, of The Hunger Games and Vikings fame, also helped Stan celebrate his 34rd birthday.

On the same night in the same club,  top English golfer Chris Wood had his stag party — he is soon to marry the lovely Bethany Wivell —  which saw him joined by family and friends in the VIP garden for the evening.

Eventually this moveable feast of a stag relocated to House’s sister bar on Lower Baggot Street, Xico.

Angela Lansbury lights up Oliver Plunkett Street, he wrote

Angela Lansbury, he wrote. The acclaimed American actress was spotted in Cork last Monday afternoon. In fact, my Deep Throat below in the Real Capital of Ireland told me that Angela was spotted talking to a window cleaner outside a hairdressers on Oliver Plunkett Street.

The one-time star of Murder, She Wrote (who has a home in Ballycotton and is friends with the Allens of Ballymaloe) was doing some shopping in Cork.

In the city centre of  the actual capital of Ireland, meanwhile, the Hutchinson Hains bandwagon rolled into Dublin last Saturday for the wedding of Ava Hutchinson and Alex Hains at The Trinity City Hotel in Dublin. Ava and her new husband are well matched: she represented Ireland at the 2012 Olympics in the marathon, while he is a former elite athlete and now coach.

Ava’s father Colman, brothers and sister in-law — all TV producers in the UK with credits including Big Brother, The Only Way is Essex and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire — were joined by, among others,  former top model Grace O’Shaughnessy.  The bride and groom held an intimate party in House on Leeson Street last night.
