I'm down with the President, don't you know? Michael D. Higgins very kindly sent me and my wife a lovely letter - which was read out by Best Man Brendan O'Connor - at our wedding last summer. So the great man, of whom I have long been an admirer, is officially my favourite President.
My second favourite Prez was in Marco Pierre White's restaurant on Dawson Street last Tuesday week. I speak, of course, of Mary Robinson.
Ireland's first female President, who is a regular in Marco's on Dawson Street, was in for lunch with her husband Nicholas and a friend.
They came in at 2pm and left a little after 3.30pm. I can also inform you, courtesy of my Deep Throat, that Mary "looked glam in an understated way."
A future President of Ireland was in Eathos on Baggot Street Upper for lunch last Friday week and in Cinnamon in Ranelagh twice - on Monday and Wednesday before jetting off to London for business meetings and TV interviews.
