Irish Rail seems to have had a welcome change of heart about installing WiFi on trains. Where previously it refused to entertain the idea for fear of committing to obsolete technology, the company will now trial WiFi on the Dublin-Cork route starting from next month. Several firms are taking part in the trial, with some such as Airappz proposing to offer the service for free.

  • Forget the media, Twitter is the place where celebs make their big announcements these days. In the last week, we had Katy Perry (@katyperry) insisting she wasn't pregnant, Courtney Love (@CourtneyLoveUK) posting nude images of herself and Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) calling off a gig (which was news to the thousands of people already at the venue).
