An Post delivers new network

An Post became the latest player in the popular pre-pay phone market after it launched Ireland's newest mobile network, which is called 'postfone'. About 78pc of mobile customers use the pre-pay method -- a figure that rises to 96pc when it comes to 15- to 17-year-olds.
An Post's postfone comes with just one set of tariffs and a choice of four handsets; the idea is that you don't get bamboozled by a range of price plans.
Using their existing retail network, postfone is currently available at 80 main post offices, a number which will increase to 320 by the end of the summer. You'll also be able to sign up at www.postfone.ie.
So how do postfone's prices compare with the competition?
Given the variety and complexity of pre-pay tariffs out there, it can be difficult to compare costs.
The prices below are basic rates, and other price plans may be available.
