My Pet: Brady settles in with O'Reilly bunch

Brady the dog is a new addition to our family. - we've had him for two months, roughly.

We started to foster him when he was one-and-a-half. He grew up on a farm where he stayed outside with rabbits, sheep, cows and cats.

It was hard staying outside rounding up sheep every day. Because of his friendly humour the farmers thought he wasn't a good enough sheepdog.

A few weeks before we got him, the farmers took him to the local vet to be put down.

Luckily, the vet gave Brady to their friend Shelly, who runs Network Dog Rescue.

Shelly took Brady in, and she then shared his photograph on Facebook, looking for a new family.

When my mum saw his picture, she showed the rest of the family and we all knew that Brady would be perfect for us.

We already had two cats, which we adopted four years ago. When my mum brought Brady in, they were shocked - they didn't like him at all!

Eventually our girl cat, Patch, settled in with it and didn't mind him that much, but our other cat, James Bond, was and still is a forever enemy to the dog.

He likes to stand his ground and scratch him whenever he comes too close.

This makes the dog completely horrified of the cat and he won't go near him. Even when Brady is upstairs, he won't come down unless the cat goes outside or if we are going for walks.

On April 2 we decided to take a vote; we had had him for one month exactly, so we wanted to take a vote to see if we were going to keep him or find him another family…

It wasn't much of a vote because everyone voted 'keep', so that meant he was staying!

Brady is very popular around our area and he just loves the attention! He also loves the park, where he can play with all his friends and run around. He still doesn't quite understand what a ball is, which is very unusual compared to most dogs. Rather than a tennis ball, he loves his tug toy and his chews!

At home when I come back from school we play tuggies in the sitting room. He gets very hyper! Sometimes if it's good weather, we play it outside. He loves the garden when people are there to play with him!

Something most dogs do is they literally eat anything,. That's definitely Brady!

So yes, he's settling in perfectly, amazingly fine!
