Summer arrival for Peugeot 2008
PEUGEOT'S new urban crossover, the 2008, will be here in the summer after making its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
It was shown as a concept guise in September's Paris Motor Show but now it's on its way here. Based on the Peugeot 208, the company expects to attract a different sort of buyer.
At 4.16 metres long, it mixes the merits of a hatchback and SUV. Peugeot says it will have a high driving position and LED daytime running lights.
The roofline stems from the double-bubble of the RCZ sports car while the boot has an especially low loading sill.
It will have the latest generation e-HDi diesel and new 3cyl petrols mean emissions will start at 99g/km.
This is the first Peugeot motor designed and developed by engineers and stylists from Paris, Shanghai, China and Sao Paulo.
Prices and equipment levels for models here will be announced nearer to the arrival date.
