Sleek Fluence to heat up Renault battle

RENAULT, on something approaching the crest of a sales wave at the moment, expect its new Fluence here in early April.
This is built on a Megane floorpan but there, it insists, the parallels end.
We saw it briefly in Dublin on Monday. It looks well.
It will be interesting to see how it is received because it poses something of a challenge to the large-family Laguna and the small-family Megane. It has more boot space than the Laguna and is nearly as roomy.
That means there is going to be a lot of choice for buyers and the competition between models in the Renault range is going to be intense.
I'm told there will be two power versions of the 1.5dCi diesel with Tax Band A emissions making the Fluence a real option.
