Rivals agree parts deal

BMW and PSA Peugeot-Citroen will collaborate on buying and producing hybrid powertrain parts for front-drive vehicles.

The two firms already share engines across Mini, Peugeot and Citroen vehicles.

They see big savings from this deal which will of course pave the way for standardisation of key components that hybrids require.

The 'joint' technology will feature on BMW's new front-drive model, as well as Peugeots, Citroens and Minis.

Meanwhile, Citroen may expand their DS range beyond the DS3, DS4 and DS5 models to embrace a sports car, according to a report in 'Autocar'.
