Pajero gets a major overhaul as it clocks up 10,000 buyers
MITSUBISHI'S newest Pajero, heavily revised and updated, has just gone on sale here.
The 3.2-litre diesel now pumps 200bhp (up 20pc) with pulling power (torque) also increased (16pc).
We Irish have bought more than 10,000 Pajeros over the past 25 years.
Emissions are down (207g/km, Band F) because it can do the equivalent of 36.2 mpg. The 4WD system can be easily switched to 2WD at speeds of up to 100kmh and all versions have a five-speed manual transmission.
As it is a real workhorse there is a commercial version available in short wheelbase (SWB) or long (LWB).
Standards on every model include cruise control, automatic air con, Bluetooth, 18in alloys, traction control, electric/heated/folding door mirrors with integrated indicator lamps, remote audio controls on steering wheel, as as well as driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags.
Prices start at €32,262 (excluding VAT but including €200 VRT) for the SWB Commercial with the LWB costing €42,178. Commercials will account for 90pc of purchases here. The passenger version costs €63,020.
There's a three-year/100,000km warranty as standard but you can opt for an additional two years -- check with your dealer.
