Mercs will not get any smaller
MERCEDES have decided that they will not go 'sub-compact'.
There had been reports it would build a smaller car to bridge the gap between the micro-car Smart brand and its A-Class.
But judging by reports of comments by its chief executive Dieter Zetsche, this is not going to happen. However, they may decide to expand the Smart brand into the supermini segment where Audi's A1 and MINIs already compete.
Smart will this summer roll out its third-generation two-seat ForTwo as well as its second-generation four-seat ForFour.
