Megane price is pegged until year-end

RENAULT have revamped their Megane and claim it is the first model in their range to have two new Stop/Start engines.
The TCe 115 Stop/Start is the first Renault petrol to have direct fuel injection and turbocharging.
The diesel 1.5-litre dCi 110 gets new technology, with claimed record low fuel consumption of 80.7mpg (90g/km).
Prices start at €18,990 ex-works, and Renault say they are guaranteeing the price of the revised Megane regardless of what new measures are introduced in the Budget, so long as you order before December 31.
Smith Edison wins commercial award
THE Smith Edis-on has been chosen as the country's leading electric commercial vehicle. It scooped the top award at the Fleet Trans-port Awards 2013, sponsored by ESB e Cars.
The Smith Edis-on is a full electric vehicle and based on the Ford Transit. It comes in van, cab/chassis and minibus variants. David Mullen, MD of Electric Vehicles Ireland, distributor of Smith Electric Vehicles, is seen rec-eiving the award from Dermot McArdle, MD of ESB e Cars.
New Honda system '30pc more efficient'
HONDA have devised a new compact one-motor hybrid system for small vehicles. They are calling it the SPORTS HYBRID intelligent dual clutch drive system.
They say it will be more powerful than existing models and combines a new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine with a 7-speed system. They claim the built-in motor and lithium-ion battery improve efficiency by more than 30pc.
Mitsubishi reveal Outlander pricing
MITSUBISHI have revealed pricing for their new Outlander, which has just gone on sale here. It comes as a 5-seater 2WD or 7-seater 4WD in manual or automatic.
Prices start at €34,950 with delivery and related charges extra. The marque has been quiet for a while, but its new "Global Small" supermini gets here early next year with a plug-in hybrid version of the Outlander due later.
