'Jambuster system' to aid drivers

FORD says it is developing a system to help reduce traffic jams.

Well, not exactly reduce, but something that might ease the pressure on drivers.

They describe the "intelligent driving feature" as an extension of existing technologies such as Active Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Aid and so on.

They say this will allow a car to keep pace with other vehicles while automatically steering the car to stay in the current lane. They say the system is designed to reduce driver stress and fatigue, and "potentially improve vehicle flow".

We'll try it out on Pearse Street if and when it gets here.
