HONDA’s Jazz hybrid will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month.
It will be rolled out in Europe next year and nearer to that we’ll learn of price and spec details. It will be the first parallel hybrid vehicle in the socalled supermini segment. It shares the IMA hybrid motor and control system with the Insight and CR-Z hybrids.
That means it will have the same 1.3-litre i-VTEC engine as the Insight hybrid. That also means linking up with the Continuously Variable Transmission and the electric motor sandwiched between the two to create a parallel hybrid system.
It is a taller vehicle than the Insight, but Honda claim it has similar fuel consumption and CO2 emissions figures.
You’ll know it’s a hybrid from its revised headlights (they have a blue surround) clear rear lights, new front grille, restyled bumpers and a chrome tailgate garnish.
The cabin gets a makeover too, and you can go the extra mile for leather trim.
