Getting motorists safely from park to drive

A NEW road safety awareness campaign was launched last week by the Road Safety Authority and Park Rite, targeting major car parks around the country.
The campaign will see posters which display seatbelt wearing and Daytime Running Lights messages at highly visible locations such as the entry and exit points and pay station areas in Park Rite car parks throughout the country.
According to Noel Brett, chief executive of the Road Safety Authority, "the aim of the campaign, is to deliver an important road safety message to drivers and passengers at a key point of intervention, the start of their journey."
He added: "I have no doubt that this campaign will create a greater awareness of seatbelt wearing rates among drivers and passengers, and encourage drivers to use their dipped headlights during the daytime."
