From shows to showrooms -- the cars that are heading our way
IT was mad -- in more senses than one -- to have two major car shows last week -- at Los Angeles and Tokyo. Lots of concepts and strange designs that will never be anything but a designer's whim -- but here's a few you'll see here in the near future.
Porsche's Macan small SUV, right, will have two petrol engines and a diesel. The petrols include a 3.6-litre 394bhp 3.6-litre V6 (0-100kmh in 4.8sec).
The Mercedes GLA45 AMG concept is nearly there. The production model goes on sale next year.
Ford's large SUV the Edge, above, will soon come to Europe -- think of it as being about the same size as the BMW X5. Expect it to change little from its current look. Interesting, too, to see Kia's 900 -- a preview of a new saloon.
And we can't wait to see the Ford Mustang coming to Europe.
Yes, there was a lot of glitz and glamour, and a lot of hot air, to be frank. So much had been leaked in advance there were just a few key models that held the interest.
Look forward to seeing them soon though.
