Evergreen Micra gets a much-needed refresh

The Micra is still flying, 30 years down the road. The latest version has been substantially revamped. It gets here in October.
Now it has a sharper, less bulbous look at the front and is much tighter at the rear. The cabin has been changed too with better quality materials and there are dash-mounted Aux-in and USB slots linked to all audio units.
This will have the 3-cyl 1.2-litre petrol (109g/km, 80bhp), and the DIG-S (99g/km, 95bhp) and the 1.5-litre dCi diesel (95g/km, 90bhp).
The strategy here is to pack the Micra with equipment – it has cruise control as standard – and keep the price down so it doesn't clash with the new Note. The latter is likely to cost €1,000 or so more but its entry level spec will not match the Micra's.
That is the way they expect to keep one from 'robbing' buyers from each other. Micra owners are, apparently, hugely loyal. They'll like what they've done with this.
I think it needed a shot in the arm and had become terribly stale.
