You know that big yellow sticker? Well it might do no good as a warning to other drivers.
We all know that sticker, its yellow and looks like a warning triangle; baby on board is like a threat crash into me and you’ll be harming my child. We can also assume it’s for emergency services so that they check for the child seat in the back, but that's like telling our professional emergency services that they couldn't find their bum with both hands.
That doesn’t stop drivers behaving like rally drivers when your little precious is sitting in the back this could be because of the drivers out there who speed while on the phone and carrying kids in the back. Yes this does happen; I’ve seen it with my own eyes. That parent who’s late for dinner, getting to the shops or just trying to get home. Lots of these drivers expect everyone else to behave nicely because they have a sticker in the back window that proclaims ‘precious cargo on board’.
It’s this kind of driver that has us ignoring the stickers because there’s no talking to them, they don’t see anything wrong with the way they are driving even if that driving is inflicted on us.
If we all just slow down, get off the phone and that includes texting, tweeting and facebooking what you had for lunch then we wouldn’t need the stickers because there would be a lot less problems on the road.
What do you think of the baby on board stickers, do you take more care when you see one?
