Three in a row: at last we get to see Sorento
THEY'VE managed to tease us for three weeks before finally showing us the new Kia Sorento.
So here it is at long last - and there are some interesting facts to accompany it.
We are told it is longer (+95mm to 4,780mm) and lower (15mm to 1,685 mm) - which, I think, makes it look a lot better.
The wheelbase is 80mm longer (2,780 mm) so, they claim, there's more room on all three rows of seats.
The Sorento was mostly designed in Korean though the carmaker claims there are inputs from Europe and the US.
Basically it is built on a tweaked version of the current Hyundai Santa Fe and as such should have a decent mix of handing and ride.
It is expected that the existing 2.2-litre CRDi diesel (194bhp) will continue to provide the power though it will, inevitably, have been revised. That means we can expect it to be cleaner, greener and, possibly, more powerful.
The new Sorento will first be shown in Korea later this month.
Then it will head to Paris where it will make its European debut in October.
