Ford's Focus is one of the most popular cars to buy new here.
But it is way ahead of everything else in the used-import stakes, according to the latest statistics.
As demand for secondhand cars continues to fuel high levels of imports, family cars are being brought over in big numbers.
So far this year, 2,725 imported Focus models have been registered.
That is nearly 1,000 ahead of the Volkswagen Passat (1,839) with the Volkswagen Golf a steady 1,644 in third place according to the Motorcheck.ie figures.
And there is strong demand for two of the best-known executive cars.
Audi's A4 (1,387) is seldom out of the top section while the BMW 5-series (1,300) racks up consistently high numbers each year.
So far this year 36,331 used import have been registered with close on 60,000 now likely for the year.
