Steve McQueen's son to drive Mustang around Ireland

HIS father Steve drove the iconic Mustang in 'Bullitt'. Now son, Chad McQueen, is going to drive one around Ireland.
Film actor, producer and race-car driver Chad will create another bit of McQueen/Mustang history by driving the new-for-Europe powerhouse all over - including Galway, Limerick, Killarney, Cork and Waterford - from April 18. In conjunction with the Dermot and Dave Show on TodayFM, he will have the 5-litre V8 (416PS). It's a big, powerful machine.
In advance of his drive he tells us: "For me, there is something about a Mustang that is so timeless.
"You put your hands on the wheel and look out over that classic dash and hood, and listen to that unmistakable V8 rumble - it's the feeling of freedom and the open road." And: "I can't wait to take it out around Ireland's roads".
I can tell him just what it feels like on Irish roads because I've just been driving the 5-litre here. Read my verdict of the Mustang in this weekend's Review in the 'Irish Independent'.
