Stand-alone Citroen DS rolls out new models with a special leader of the brand
As part of the new DS Automobiles brand roll-out here, they have updated a number of the cars in the range. DS is being sold as a separate brand. It will however, for now, be sold from within different areas of existing Citroen dealerships.
Probably the most eye-catching of the revised lineup is the DS 5 1955 Limited Edition - to mark the anniversary of the first one.
It comes in Ink Blue and has 1955 badging, 'Criollo' semi-aniline 'watch strap' leather seats and LED Vision headlights.
It costs from €44,345 with the BlueHDi 180 S&S auto powertrain (116g/km and road tax of €200).
The rest of the recently revised DS 5 line up is also on sale with prices kicking off from the €36,045 mark.
They say their new colour touchscreen gives you simple and straightforward access to in-car functions such as navigation and music. There are now 12 fewer buttons on the dash and facia. The new Mirror Screen system lets you copy smartphone content onto the screen. And later in the year it will get a 'MyDS', an iOS/Android compatible mobile app.
An interesting model is the DS 5 Hybrid 4x4 200 (103g/km - €190 road tax - and a claimed 70mpg+).
The DS brand was officially created on June 1 last year. The range now comprises DS 3, DS 4, DS 5 in Europe with DS 5LS and DS 6 also in China.
