Skoda Superb crowned Ireland’s Car of the Year
Skoda’s Superb has been named Ireland’s Car of the Year at the annual award ceremony held by the Association of Professional Motoring Press (APMP).
Ireland’s best known motoring journalists voted in the second annual awards and found the Skoda model to be the best car of the year after taking into account a widespread criteria.
Respected motoring journalists rated the Superb as an ideal car for families and credited the model for it’s value for money.
Following the announcement, Chairperson of the APMP Michael Sheridan said: “Superb is the best value for money large family car you can buy, especially in terms of square footage.”
The Skoda Superb also took the prize for Best Large Family Car of the Year.
"The only criticism that could be levelled at the old model was that it lacked desirability and drive dynamic.
"The third generation Superb has addressed all these issues and represents outstanding value for money," said Phil Hedderman, Motoring Editor for The Herald.
Meanwhile, Audi’s A1 was named City Car of the Year at the second annual event held in the Powerscourt Hotel in Co. Wicklow today.
The Performance Car of the Year was awarded to Volkswagen’s Golf R while, Audi’s Q7 was named the Large SUV of the Year.
