You will be able to see better in the dark with new lighting technology being developed by Ford.

It will let you see possible hazards more easily when driving at night, the company says.

The 'Advanced Front Lighting' system interprets traffic signs and widens beams at junctions and roundabouts.

With GPS it uses a forward-facing camera to focus lighting so that drivers' view of bends is better. In essence, this means the car remembers the route and 'knows' where to light up the dark spots.

This 'Spot Lighting' uses an infra-red camera to pick out other road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, and animals.
