Audi have brought in a new 1.8-litre petrol, entry-level engine for their TT Coupe and roadster.
The 180bhp powerplant manages 0-100kmh in a respectable 6.9 seconds.
And it costs from €45,615 for the Coupe with the roadster kicking off from €47,815.
The previous entry-level price, of the 230bhp 2-litre Coupe, was €48,650 on-the-road.
You can have a 6spd manual or auto S-Tronic. They claim from 7 litres/100kms to 7.7l/100km depending on model and transmission.
The turbocharged 1.8-litre has a big spread of top torque (pulling power) - from 1,250rpm to 5,000rpm. Its arrival means there are now four engines in the range: a 2-litre diesel which develops 184bhp and two versions of the 2-litre TFSI (the 230bhp mentioned, and 310bhp - in the TTS).
