Jaguar bring their Art of Performance Tour to Ireland
Jaguar’s Art of Performance Tour rolled into town last weekend, giving drivers the opportunity to put the marquee’s latest range of performance cars through their paces in a track environment.
It was the first time the event had been held in Ireland, having proved a massive hit with car enthusiasts in many countries around the world.
After a short introduction at Carton House, guests were handed the keys to one of a fleet of waiting cars, and then drove in convoy to Weston Airport.
One of the airport’s runways had been transformed into an impressive track for the event, using hundreds of traffic cones.
The track featured a series of stomach churning slaloms, a hairpin turn and a tricky high-speed lane change, allowing drivers to experience the handling and performance of the vehicles in a way that would never be possible during a regular test drive.
Jaguar's professional driver puts the F-Type through its paces
The vehicle line-up included the XE and XF saloon cars, as well as the F-PACE, Jaguar’s first SUV. No doubt the star of the show however was Jaguar’s 340ps V6 F-Type sports car. Guests flocked to the sleek two-seater, taking photographs and posing for selfies in the driving seat.
After a chaperone lap with one of Jaguar’s drivers, it was time for guests to get behind the wheel and put their driving skills to the test in the car of their choice.
As the event drew to a close each guest was taken for a white-knuckle lap in the F-Type by one of the professional drivers, making it a fitting end to a thoroughly enjoyable day.
