Volkswagen's new Caddy van - the fourth generation - has been shown for the first time.

It is expected to go on sale here in September.

Because of new versions and, one presumes, lower emissions all round, they say the entry-level price will be reduced.

There will be four power versions of the 2-litre diesel ranging from 75bhp to 150bhp.

The Caddy panel van BlueMotion returns under 4l/100km.

And there are three petrols should you want one (1.2-litre 4cyl TSI 84bhp, 1-litre 3cyl TSI 102bhp and a 1.4-litre TSI 4cyl 125bhp).

Around 1.5 million of the third generation Caddy were bought globally during its 11 years in production.
