Eddie Cunningham's first impressions of Mitsubishi's Pickup Double Cab

Mitsubishi will pick up where they left off when their new L200 gets here in August.
I've just been driving the new Pickup Double Cab on and off road in the mountains around Nice in the south of France.
It's much better looking at the front and - important for families - there's more room in the cabin and it dealt with a rocky-cum-muddy hill drive with ease.
These cars are used by businesses, farmers, those who tow horse boxes, boats etc.
They'll be pleased to know towing ability is now up to 3.1 tonnes.
More importantly they'll be happier with the deck out of the cabin and the 5cm or so more room on the second row of seats (there are two ISOFIX child - seat settings).
Expect prices to start around €33,500 which is only a little up on current starting prices.
The 2.4litre engine now develops 181bhp.
Road tax can vary between €333 if you are registered for VAT and up to €900 if you are not.
The only downside of the Pickup is it won't get here in time for the 152-reg buying period in July.
Ah well there's plenty of time to 'pick up' some sales and more orders for January.
