Don't hold your breath but car insurance 'will cost a lot less'

It is of little immediate respite to thousands of motorists hit by spiralling insurance costs but experts now insist technology will substantially drive down cover costs.
A special summit on autonomous driving by Volvo and Thatcham Research reckons crashes could drop by 80pc. And Volvo say the insurance industry will have "no choice" but to react.
They say there will be fewer accidents, injuries and fatalities thanks to autonomous drive. They describe it as "the single most important advance in automotive safety in recent years". Here's hoping.
