BMW's M4 super car will be unveiled by late autumn
BMW's high-powered M4 GTS will be revealed later in the autumn - and this is the concept version of it.
A production version won't be shown at the Frankfurt auto show apparently but there will be an official launch thereafter.
The concept has been unveiled just a year after the M4 Coupe was rolled out.
Obviously, the new car will be made for both road and track by BMW's M division.
It has some interesting new technologies - and it is reported that we will see them in other production vehicles later.
They include a water injection system for better engine performance and a reduction in 'knocking' - as well as organic light-emitting diode (OLED) taillights.
It might be of interest to list some of the new car's predecessors: M3 Evolution (1988), M3 Sport Evolution (1990), M3 GT (1995), M3 CSL (2003), M3 GTS (2010) and M3 CRT (2011).
