Skoda will debut a high-economy Greenline version of their large new Superb liftback at next month's Frankfurt show.

The Czech Republic manufacturer is claiming it will be able to cover 1,780 kilometres on just one tank of diesel.

With the 1.6-litre TDI (120PS) diesel engine under the bonnet, they say it can manage 3.7 litres/100km (that's 76.34mpg according to my calculations). With emissions of 95g/km its road tax is €180.
