A-Class show for Mercedes

Mercedes recently released pictures of its new A-Class concept.
Shown officially at this week's Shanghai motor show, it gives an idea of what the next generation version A-Class -- due in 2012 -- will look like. The first two generations were designed using a sandwich-style construction.
That meant most of the drivetrain and engine was underneath the cabin floor.
However, the new bolder styling of the concept masks a shift to a more conventional design, as it attempts to compete with the likes of Audi's A1 and the BMW 1 Series.
This is front-wheel drive and has a 2-litre turbocharged 4cyl (210bhp). Expect to see a production version at September's Frankfurt motor show.
