A pair of Irish grandparents were left scratching their heads when a postcard arrived from Tenerife more than eight years after it was sent by their daughter during a holiday in 2008.
Breda ‘Bunty’ O’Shea from Tralee was holidaying on the Canary Island when she decided to send the note to her parents Betty and Neilus but the card was delivered this week more than eight years after it was dropped into a Spanish post box.
According to The Kerry’s Eye, the post card read: “Hello All. Having a great having a ball in Tenerife as ye already know. Weather is beautiful and food and entertainment very good also,” Bunty wrote.
Bunty signed off by promising she would “be home before the postcard” and she most certainly kept to that as she arrived home from the holiday almost a decade before her thoughtful note.
The postcard posed as a time warp for Bunty and her elderly parents.
“I couldn’t stop laughing when I heard about it. I just wonder where it was all these years! Was it a delay on their side or on our side,” she asked.
