Are you an up and coming rock star? About to receive your first Oscar? Signed up to a Premier League football club? If so, this house on Sorrento Road in Dalkey is for you.

It's owned by former Formula One racing driver Eddie Irvine and its availability means that you too can live in the fast lane.

With Bono, Van Morrison and The Edge as your neighbours in this celeb enclave, 'Ischia' - named after a volcanic island in the Gulf of Naples - has the Sorrento coastline written all over it… twice.

It was on sale for €4m a couple of years ago, but is now a luxury short term let, designed to attract visiting executives or celebs, and the ultra-contemporary 5,000 sq ft house is quiet, private and luxurious.

For your money the best bits are free - the fantastic views over Killiney Bay and beyond. But the price is €20,000 per month. However for a monthly let this is a €10k plus reduction on the €7,000 per week initially being sought when this property first came up for letting.

Award winning architects Smith & Kennedy designed the white, wood and glass property with a copper-clad curved exterior which is accessed via electric gates from a shared private driveway.

An outdoor lap pool will keep you fit but if it's a little on the chilly side, there is a sauna, Jacuzzi and plunge pool also.

Inside the house, which is split level given the rocky cliffs on which it is perched, is a large dining area with seating for 12 and double-height ceilings, with a cloakroom off to the left.

There is a large modern kitchen in hi-gloss white and five double bedrooms, four of which are ensuite, and a bathroom. Some of the interior walls reflect the curving of the design.

A games room (with bar and snooker table) opens on to the pool; timber decking with extensive seating and a barbecue area surround it.

All these are on the ground floor, while the living area is upstairs to take account of the best views.

It has a floor-to-ceiling glass corner window with heavy drapes to cover when it all gets too much.

Floors are polished natural wood and furnishings are simple and comfortable. There is a huge fireplace here too and a self-contained office off this room.

Parking is freely available and the lease includes broadband and utilities.

Dalkey Village is a short walk with its parks, restaurants, cafes and bars. It also has good transport links, including the Dart and M50, which is a short drive away. There are also several bus services to the city centre and the Aircoach travels directly to Dublin Airport.
